Spiritual hospitality
All guests who come will be received in the same way as Christ.
SAINT BENEDICT
The monastery does not live in isolation and turned in on itself. From the vey beginning, Saint Benedict wished the community to be open, living in relationship with the surrounding society and with the Church of that area. The monks are invited to recongnise Christ in all those who come to them.
Some ask for material help, others wish to be helped in one way or another in their spiritual search. They take part in our prayer, in the Eucharist or in the Divine Office. They are able to meet one of the monks who listens to them and answers their questions. They spend a few days in the context of silence and of the beauty of the monastery.
The guest-house welcomes both the young and adults, men and women, groups and individuals for periods of retreat and recollection.
Just next to the abbey, there is the "chalet" which can accommodate groups or families. There, accommodation is in dormitories and the groups do their own cooking and house-keeping.
For everyone, even a brief contact with the monastery will be the opportunity of perceiving, beyond the hard outer layer of daily life, the secret presence of the Kingdom of God on earth.
